Religion is a form of child abuse being inflicted upon each generation. It terrifies kids with tales of torment and punishment demanding them to live up to some impossible incoherent standard. But the worst part is that it teaches them to be complacent with their ignorance. Religion undermines the intellect and rationality and therefore undermines society. Religion is anti-science even to the point of sometimes going agaisnt medical treatment and development.

“Violence comes from fanaticism, not faith. Secular fanatics have done the same — the problem is fanaticism, not God. Teaching children values, morality, and identity is not abuse — it’s parenting. Every worldview (atheist, secular humanist, Christian, Muslim, etc.) passes on its values.

What would atheists prefer — a value vacuum? Kids raised with no moral compass until they’re 18? That’s not neutral, that’s neglect. Most studies show religiously raised children tend to have stronger family bonds, lower substance abuse, and better community engagement.
