We would have no way to know the methods or intentions of a God, and no way to study them. At best, faith survives in the gaps of science — but it does nothing to close them.”

Intelligent Design has scientific worth because it has produced at least 46 peer-reviewed papers in mainstream journals, not just ID-affiliated outlets. It has made real, testable predictions—such as the functionality of so-called “junk DNA” and strict limits on what random mutation and selection can achieve—that have been confirmed by research. The theory is also falsifiable, since demonstrating that undirected processes can generate the information and irreducible complexity of life would disprove it. Most importantly, ID serves as the counterbalance to Darwinian evolution, ensuring science doesn’t drift into dogma but remains open to evidence and alternative explanations.
