Atheist Argument
Version 1
(Version 1 of the "There is no proof of God" Argument)
For all of human history, people have appealed to gods to explain what they could not understand. Thunder, disease, the origin of life — each was once “proof of God.” But every time, natural explanations replaced the divine. Lightning came from electricity, disease from germs, life from chemistry and evolution. The space for God has shrunk with every discovery.
And today, the fact remains: there is no proof of God. Not a shred of empirical evidence that a supernatural being exists or intervenes in the world. No experiment has ever measured a soul. No telescope has ever seen heaven. No prayer has ever been shown to heal the sick better than chance. Billions pray daily, yet wars rage, children starve, and disasters strike just as if no one is listening.
When the evidence for any other claim is this absent, we dismiss it without hesitation. We don’t “keep an open mind” about Zeus or Thor, and the same standard applies to the God of monotheism. If God exists, He hides as carefully as if He does not. The honest conclusion is simple: there is no proof of God — and without proof, belief is not justified.
