Atheist Argument

Version 1
(Version 1 of the "Problem of suffering" argument)

If we put aside the pain humans inflict on each other, what remains is the suffering baked directly into the fabric of nature — and that, by definition, is God’s responsibility. Consider the parasitic worm that lays its eggs in the eyes of young children; when those eggs hatch, the larvae eat their way out, leaving the child in excruciating pain and lifelong blindness. Human free will plays no role here, but God’s supposed free will does. Either He cannot spare that child, which means He is not all-powerful, or He chooses not to, which means He is not all-good. In either case, the idea of an all-loving and all-powerful God is not logical.
